Once a powerful city-state with a bustling marketplace, Líadan now lies in ruins on the far west coast of Dor. A three-year war with another city-state called Bayard ended in a decisive victory for Líadan in 670. Bayard was left in shambles after the city was sacked, and a mysterious plague ran rampant shortly thereafter. Several months later, in 671, soldiers from Líadan investigated their deserted enemy to find an infestation of mimics - insidious insectoid creatures that can emulate inanimate objects. While the soldiers were away, a cataclysmic earthquake destroyed Líadan and left it half-sunk in the swamp. Now, the ruins are thoroughly haunted by the drowned dead and their angry spirits, and ravens swarm overhead at all times. It is said by the people of nearby Kerwon that a so-called 'demon prince' has since taken up residence in the inner sanctum, and uses the ravens as his spies.
